Lenovo repairs Perth FAQs
Answers to the questions we hear most often about our laptop repair service in Perth. Have something else? Call us on 08 9325 1196 and a real technician will pick up.
Do you repair ThinkPad keyboards in Perth?
Yes — ThinkPad keyboards are one of the most common Lenovo repairs we do in Perth. We replace single broken keys, full keyboards (T-series, X-series, E-series, P-series and L-series) and fix trackpoint and palm-rest issues. Most ThinkPad keyboard replacements are same-day once the part is in.
My Lenovo Yoga hinge has broken — can you fix it?
Yes. Yoga 360° hinges fail commonly because they take real mechanical load every time you flip the screen — we see it weekly in our Perth workshop. We replace the hinge assembly and, when the case has cracked around the hinge mount, we can repair or replace the bezel and rear cover so the laptop closes and rotates properly again.
My Lenovo Legion is overheating and shutting down under load — what can you do?
That's almost always thermal: dried-out thermal paste, a clogged fan or a failed fan motor. Our Perth technicians strip the Legion down, clean the heatsinks, replace the fans if needed and repaste the CPU and GPU with quality thermal compound. We test under sustained load before you collect it so you know the fix actually held.
Are you an authorised Lenovo service centre?
No — we're an independent computer repair business in Perth. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by Lenovo. That means we're not bound by Lenovo's authorised-service pricing or in-warranty restrictions: we'll quote you honestly, repair what's actually broken, and use the right parts for your model. If your Lenovo is still under Lenovo's warranty for that fault, we'll always tell you and recommend you contact Lenovo first.
How long do laptop repairs in Perth usually take?
Most laptop repairs are same-day to 24-hour turnaround once your device is on the bench. We start looking at every laptop within 2–3 hours of booking. Repairs that need parts we don't have on the shelf typically wait 2–3 business days for the part to arrive — and we fit them the same day they're in store.
What laptop brands do you repair?
Every brand and model — Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, Toshiba, MSI, Razer, Microsoft Surface, MacBook Pro/Air, and gaming laptops. Our Perth technicians work on all of them every day. We source the right parts for your specific laptop model rather than generic replacements.
What does a laptop repair cost in Perth?
We charge an $85 inspection fee as our minimum labour charge — that covers a real technician diagnosing the fault and giving you a written quote. From there, common laptop repairs sit roughly between $119 and $379: virus removal from $119, motherboard work from $175, liquid damage from $199, keyboard from $209, overheating from $219, battery from $249, and screen replacement from $379. Data recovery is quoted after inspection.
Is the inspection fee refunded if I don't go ahead with the laptop repair?
The $85 inspection fee is our minimum labour charge and is usually non-refundable — it pays for the time a real technician spent diagnosing your laptop. We're lenient and make exceptions for rare circumstances. If you proceed with the repair, you'll get a clear written quote before any further work starts.
Can you recover data from a laptop that won't turn on?
Usually yes. If the storage drive itself is healthy, we can recover files even when the laptop won't boot, the motherboard is dead, or the screen is cracked. For mechanical drive failures or encrypted SSDs we have advanced data recovery options too — we'll quote after inspecting the drive.
Do you offer a warranty on laptop repairs?
Yes. All laptop repairs come with a workmanship warranty, and replacement parts (batteries, screens, SSDs, etc.) carry their own manufacturer warranties on top of that. Everything is documented on your invoice so warranty claims are simple.
Where in Perth is your workshop?
Our workshop is at 75B Brewer Street, Perth WA 6000, open Monday to Friday 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM. We serve the entire Perth metro area — from Joondalup and Wanneroo in the north to Mandurah in the south, plus Fremantle, Subiaco, Victoria Park and everywhere between. Drop in, or call us on 08 9325 1196 to arrange it.
Is it worth repairing an older laptop or should I replace it?
Often a repair is the better call — a battery, SSD or fan repair on a 4-year-old laptop can give you another 3+ years of solid use. We give honest advice: if a repair doesn't make economic sense versus a replacement, we'll tell you upfront after the inspection so you can decide.
